Online submission for abstracts opens on 16 July 2018 and closes on 15 October 2018. Abstract submissions representing original scientific work from the author(s) should be aligned to the five themes indicated below:

  • Geoscience for minerals and energy
  • Geoscience for infrastructure and land use
  • Geoscience for health, groundwater and the environment
  • Geoscience innovation
  • Geoscience diplomacy.

Abstract submissions will be reviewed by a panel of subject experts and depending on the alignment of the submissions to the above-mentioned themes and relevance to the conference theme, be selected for either poster or oral presentations. Abstracts should comprise between 400 and 800 words and adhere to the following criteria:

  • Microsoft Word format
  • Include a title
  • State the contributing author(s) and their affiliations and email addresses
  • Indicate the intended geoscience theme.

The submission of an abstract constitutes a formal commitment by the author to present the abstract in the session and at the time decided upon by the Technical Organising Committee (TOC).
