The Technical Organising Committee of the conference has selected a group of speakers it thinks are world class in the five subthemes of the conference, namely geoscience for minerals and energy; geoscience for infrastructure and land use; geoscience for health, groundwater and the environment; geoscience innovation; geoscience diplomacy. Some of the subthemes have more than one keynote speaker emphasising the range of disciplines extant and that they collectively make up the foundation of the new integrated multidisciplinary geoscience mapping approach that the CGS is adopting towards finding applied geological solutions to issues facing the people of South Africa. The following keynote speakers will unboundedly bring fresh perspectives to the CGS and hopefully all will find them informative and thought-provoking.
