The Council for Geoscience is currently undertaking a comprehensive assessment of all its palaeontology collections to ensure that it upholds the highest standards of quality and accessibility. As a result, the organisation will temporarily suspend all collection visits and loans during this period.

The primary objective is to improve the curation of our fossil collections and the services we provide for researchers and palaeontologists, ensuring they have the best possible resources at their disposal. Despite this temporary suspension, we remain open to special requests for loans and visits on a case-by-case basis. If you have a specific need, please feel free to reach out to fossils@geoscience.org.za and we will do our best to accommodate you.
