COUNCIL FOR GEOSCIENCE PROJECTS
The Council for Geoscience is undertaking various integrated and multidisciplinary geoscience projects which aim to produce high-quality geoscientific information and knowledge. The integration of various fields of geoscience include geological, structural, geotechnical, geophysical and geochemical mapping, water and environmental geosciences and seismology with a view to addressing national developmental imperatives, as defined by key national objectives, including the NDP Vision 2030, the goals of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE), the White Paper on Science, Technology and Innovation of the Department of Science and Innovation and the strategic objectives of the Council for Geoscience. The work of the Council for Geoscience is classified according to five core themes; Geoscience for Mineral and Energy Resources, Geoscience for Infrastructure and Land Use, Geoscience for Health, Groundwater and the Environment, Geoscience Innovation and Geoscience Diplomacy.
